DISPUTE WITH A REALTOR®

 

REALTORS® pledge to uphold the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®.  This pledge holds them to a higher standard than other professionals.  If you feel an agent has treated you unethically or unprofessionally here are options for you to consider.

To file an ethics with the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®. – https://www.parealtors.org/ethics-and-professional-standards/ The Cambria Somerset Association of REALTORS® participates in a statewide cooperative for ethical filing by the public or a fellow REALTORS®.

The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission is the licensing bureau in Pennsylvania and also has a complaint process if you do not feel your complaint falls under the REALTOR Code of Ethics. https://www.dos.pa.gov/Pages/File-a-Complaint.aspx


BUYER/SELLER DISPUTE


If you are a buyer or seller and have a complaint with the other party to the transaction CSAR offers a Dispute Resolution System to mediate the complaint.  CSAR will assist you with the process and locate a mediator satisfactory to both parties. Forms

 

FAIR HOUSING

If you believe you are a victim of discrimination in housing you may file a complaint with HUD or the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.  Be sure to review the protected classes on these websites and their complaint process.
