The Northern Neck is a large peninsula with the Potomac River to our North, the Chesapeake Bay to our East, and the Rappahannock River to our South & West. These rivers offer serene beaches and stunning water views. Fishing, hunting, golfing, boating, exploring nature, and visiting historical landmarks are activities that you can enjoy here. We are indeed rural, but not too rural! Here you can enjoy total seclusion and still have a quaint fishing village with charming shops, and old country stores just a short drive away. However if you are like my wife and need to get to “the city”, you can do so in about two hours. Washington DC, Fredericksburg, Richmond, and Norfolk/Virginia Beach are all less then a two hour drive. Medical facilities, superb restaurants, and nationally-recognized stores are all within a short drive as well.
What is life like in the Northern Neck? Well, having lived here for my entire life, and having been a 5th generation waterman, I can tell you most anything you need to know about the area. I’ve traveled to other places in the United States and I can’t think of any other place that I’d rather live. The things I like most about this area are:

· Slower pace of life without congestion and traffic jams
· Knowing lots of faces and having friendly conversation wherever I go
· Very little crime
· Low cost of living
· The water and the unique lifestyle that it provides (fishing, boating, skiing, etc.)
