EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Orientation

All new members are required to attend New Member Orientation within the first six months of Association Membership. Failure to attend without an excused absence (by the CEO) will result in a $250.00 fine. If the fine is not paid within 30 days of the class date, Association membership and all services including MLS will be suspended and remain suspended until the fine is paid. If you fail to attend a second time without an excused absence an additional fine of $500.00 dollars will be incurred. The orientation program will contain a Code of Ethics course of not less than two hours and thirty minutes of instructional time.
 

Code of Ethics Training

All REALTORS® are required to complete Code of Ethic’s training every two years of not less than two hours and thirty minutes of instructional time.
 

Commission Core Course

The Core courses are developed by IREC each year effective July 1st covering changes in the law and other hot topics identified by the Commission. Licensees are required to take two Core courses every renewal period.
 

Idaho’s Continuing Education Requirement

Active Renewals: Two Commission Core Classes plus twelve hours of electives.*
First Time Renewals: Two Commission Core Classes and twelve hours of Post License electives. Agents renewing for the first time must take Post License Fundamentals (POST001) an eight-hour class and one of the following four hour electives:

  • Post License Pricing, Marketing, and Advertising (POST002)
  • Post License Professionalism, Negotiations, and Closings (POST003)
  • Post License Introduction to Commercial Real Estate (POST004)

*The Business Conduct and Office Operations (BCOO) course is required for all Designated Broker applicants. It is highly recommended for office managers and agents.
