COURSE DESCRIPTION The Insider’s Guide to Home Warranties Provider: Home Warranty of the Midwest, Inc. This course equips students with the basic knowledge needed to better understand the home warranty industry. Because real estate agents frequently introduce home warranties into a real estate transaction, it is imperative that they have a solid general understanding of what situations are generally covered/not covered. With this knowledge, agents should come away from the class with realistic expectations about coverage and the claims process and be able to communicate them more effectively to their clients. Topics include home warranty basics, differences between a home warranty versus a home inspection, claim processing, CFPB/RESPA guidelines, and current “hot topics” pertaining to home warranties. Students will have the opportunity to review sample warranty agreements and see similarities and differences in language and coverages. Student questions and input are encouraged.
