This course will teach you:

  • How to deal with a house that contains elevated levels of radon gas.
By the end of this session, you should -
  • Understand what radon is.
  • Understand the sources of radon in the home.
  • Understand the risk(s) associated with radon in the air.
  • Understand the risk(s) associated with radon in drinking water.
  • Know when it is appropriate to test for radon.
  • List two types of devices used to measure radon concentrations in air.
  • Know the units of measurement used to describe radon concentrations.
  • Understand the action levels at which remediation is recommended.
  • Understand the impact of radon testing on the real estate market.
  • Know the factors that impact the methods used to reduce radon levels.
  • List five methods of reducing radon levels in the home.
  • Understand the cost of radon mitigation.
This knowledge will:
  • Help you to recognize when radon testing is appropriate in a home.
  • Provide guidance to your clients on at what point in the real estate transaction they should have radon testing performed.
  • Ease your clients’ minds with respect to any concerns they have regarding radon.
  • Help you understand how radon testing is carried out.
  • Help you to explain to your clients the methods that may be used to mitigate high levels of radon.
  • Prevent you from wasting your time on last-minute re-negotiations.
  • Demonstrate to your clients that you are a knowledgeable professional.
*Education Policy: You will be charged a $20 no show fee if you register for a class and do not attend, 48 hours notice is preferred.  You may not be able to attend classes if you have an outstanding financial obligation.
