We relocated to the area after 17 years of working in the Washington, D.C. metropolis. Dave said they were looking for a better way of life so they bought a place at Lake Gaston in 1997. We wanted to provide the same experience for our children that we had when we were growing up – on the water – and that’s what led us to Lake Gaston. We are outdoor enthusiasts, and we want to share that passion expanding the vibrant outdoor community at Lake Gaston with a focus on ‘human powered’ fun activities. However, found it difficult to find quality outdoor gear and accessories locally, and so many venues to paddle, hike & ride are "best kept secrets", so we're on a mission to solve those issues. Lundy Layne opened in April 2019 in the beautiful community of South Hill, Virginia. Starting out selling Home Decor, Gifts, Gourmet Foods and much more. The business quickly began adding more categories based on the demand of the area and added a 2nd location in 2021, Life.Style Apparel and Shoes. Lundy Layne is curated shopping for the unexpected. Additional Company Info: Just as we were planning our one year anniversary, Covid-19 appeared, customers became nervous about shopping in public and everyone was required to wear a mask. Bria Lundy, President and Owner, came from a Corporate Retail environment and wasn’t afraid to try something new. She quickly pivoted her business, introducing Live interactive shopping to the customers in her area. And they loved it! She had talked with CommentSold in late 2019 and kept thinking about how that could help grow her online platform. Well what better time than the present. Quickly signing up and launching it the week before Mother’s Day in 2019 was the best decision she has made for her business. Viewership grew quickly from 75 to 250 to 400 to over 550. All with having about 2,000 Facebook followers. One key part that made shopping with Lundy Layne easy was not only their delivery and shipping options, but the Back Porch Pick – Up. Come when it is convenient for you, and no contact with anyone else in a time where everyone was social distancing. Fast forward to fast growing business and in April 2021 while celebrating their two year anniversary, she opened a second location. No not another Home Décor & Gifts store but a Clothing store, Life.Style, just 2 doors up from her existing store. Part of the company branding is the business being in an older cottage which does limit the space and expansion options. Many customers talk about they love going from room to room to shop, you never know what you will find on the other side of the doorway. Now with two locations set up the same way, people feel like it something special. Bria’s motto has been DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO. She loves giving her customers what they want in a shopping experience, no matter in store, online, on the phone or wherever. All of this said, Bria cannot believe the tremendous support from her amazing community and customers she has had since opening the doors. Like our Logo says our fruit spreads and all our products are: “homemade from the heart”. We grow much of our own produce and source most of the remainder of our produce from local farmers. We make all our products in a commercial kitchen in Warrenton, NC. It is NOT made by someone else in a factory for us. Sometimes the fruit spreads and relishes will finish with a different consistency (thicker or thinner) but please know that we follow our same recipe and sample each batch. The quality and taste are the same even if the consistency might vary. We hope you will enjoy the uniqueness of our quality products.
