Mary Ellen Vernie-Freeman is the daughter of a builder/contractor, formerly married to a contractor, and her daughter received a degree in architecture from Auburn University, so being a Realtor and involved with homes comes naturally for her.  She earned her Realtor's license in January of 1978 and was a co-owner of a RE/MAX franchise in Columbus.  Mary Ellen has pursued further education in Real Estate and earned the following designations:

GRI—Graduate of Georgia Real Estate Institute

CRS—Certified Residential Specialist

ABR—Accredited Buyer Representative (one of the first in Columbus to earn this designation)

As Associate Broker of Realestaters, Inc., it was only natural for her to become Qualifying Broker when Steve retired from real estate in Jan. of 2005.  She is a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors and the Phenix City Multiple Listing Service (being licensed in both Georgia and Alabama).  She has been a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club Lifetime Member and the new award now known as the Circle of Excellence.

She and Steve have close military contacts, long standing friends in the military, over twenty yars of  being partners and have assisted all ranks in making a sound investment in residential and commercial real estate.

Please see her letters of recommendation in our welcome kits.
